The Disconnect

Meet Cherry Tree Primary School. Based in Derbyshire, this school has been inspiring young learners since 1940. The school is a part of the Odyssey Collaborative Trust, who we have been partnered with for telephony and security for several years. An inflexible, aging Mitel system meant that the school didn’t have the phone flexibility they needed. Staff were finding remote work difficult and were looking to upgrade to a VOIP system ahead of the ISDN switch off. The school needed an updated, cloud-based solution to future proof their telephony.

The Answer

The team got in touch after we installed our Xelion telephony system at another Trust school - Beaufort Community Primary. Staff were so impressed, they recommended Connaught to implement Xelion across their sister schools. We offered demos of the system to school and Trust staff to showcase the benefits of Xelion, such as voicemail-to-email and stop-start call recording for improved safeguarding. The school soon had a new handset in every classroom, along with softphone and mobile app access for slick remote working. We carried out a seamless installation onto the existing IT infrastructure, keeping disruption to a minimum.

The Results; Loud and Clear

Everyone at Cherry Tree Hill Primary School is happy with their new Xelion solution. Phones in every classroom mean the school is now safer for students, and staff can communicate easily even when working remotely. With free calls and all features included without bolt on costs, billing is simple and straightforward, saving money and time for busy office staff. Parents are happy too. The voicemail-to-email function makes absence reporting easy, and they can be updated on school opening hours on the school’s answerphone messages. The Trust have been so impressed with the support they have had from Connaught, we’re now working with 3 Odyssey schools, with more looking to adopt Xelion’s slick functionality from a partner they can trust.
