Enhancing Security at Thomas Adams School

The Disconnect

Located in Shropshire, Thomas Adams School is a distinguished secondary high school and boarding facility, with multiple buildings distributed across a large and open site. In pursuit of prioritising the safety and security of its students, staff and visitors, the school embarked on replacing its outdated door access solution.

The previous door entry system no longer met the evolving needs and standards of the school, prompting the facilities team to seek a new, modernised system. The objective was not only to tighten access control but also to effectively manage the inventory of staff and visitors across their multiple campuses.

The Answer

After conducting multiple site audits and engaging in comprehensive interviews with Joanne Jones, we proposed the installation of the Paxton Net2 Access Control Solution across twenty doors positioned throughout the school premises. This strategic measure aims to significantly enhance the overall security infrastructure of the facility. We also facilitated the seamless integration of the Paxton solution with the existing InVentry sign-in and visitor management system.

This integration empowers stakeholders with the ability to monitor the movement of personnel swiftly and effectively within the building, ensuring heightened levels of safety and operational efficiency.

The Results; Loud and Clear

Having a consistent door entry system has significantly improved fire safety and security at the school which in turn, has enhanced their student safeguarding procedures. In the event of an emergency the management app makes roll call reporting quick and easy.

The team were so happy with the outcome that they have now instructed us to complete phase two for a further ten locations.

What the client said

Safeguarding our students and staff is a top priority and therefore we engaged with Connaught to carry out a site survey and advise the best solution. The work was carried out quickly and professionally, working around the needs of a busy school campus. The Connaught team offered support and assistance throughout the project, often going above and beyond.
