The Disconnect

Meet Dorothy Goodman School. A well-established SEN Primary School in Leicester, who encourages their pupils to become active and independent learners. The school had been relying on an outdated CCTV system to protect their school. This antiquated system returned poor quality images and key areas of the site were being overlooked due to cameras being installed in the wrong locations.

The school wanted to ensure their premises would be always protected. The Site Manager, Jason Bailey, decided to act and get a new system installed.

The Answer

Connaught carried out an engineering, site survey to determine a detailed specification and confirm the required locations for the new cameras to achieve maximum coverage.

Connaught suggested that the school installed seven Dahua IP CCTV cameras in external locations across their Stoke site. This ensured that key locations such as the car park were sufficiently covered, with Dahua’s software and mobile apps offering the team both on-site and remote viewing for peace of mind.

The Results; Loud and Clear

Through its partnership with Connaught and adoption of Dahua’s CCTV system, the security at Dorothy Goodman was transformed. The school were so impressed with the service, they instructed Connaught to install Paxton’s leading Door Access Control system to tighten up their security. This was initially installed across 10 x locations at their Stoke site, including main entrances and gates to improve safeguarding. Connaught also installed Paxton’s professional level software to enable the school to integrate with their existing fire alarm system and offer roll call reporting for emergency procedures.

Since the original installation, Connaught and Dorothy Goodman have established an extremely good working relationship. Connaught have supported them with various projects to ensure the school remains a safe and secure environment.

What the client said

Our old CCTV system was dated and the images were very poor and very slow. The service from Connaught was excellent, the engineers were very polite and left all areas clean and tidy. I would highly recommend Connaught.
