The Disconnect

Meet Gavin, Operations Manager for the Elliot Foundation; a Charitable multi-academy trust specialising in primary academies and determined to champion disadvantaged pupils. The Trust has a total of 9 schools in the West Midlands, but with aging analogue phone systems, Gavin was keen to improve communication and flexibility. And with remote working on the rise, collaboration between local schools was more important than ever. Two of the Walsall-based schools have been working with Connaught for over 10 years so when Gavin contacted us about future-proofing King’s Rise Academy, we knew we could help.

The Answer

King’s Rise was struggling to facilitate remote working and needed a better solution for in-classroom phones. As well as insufficient handsets, site audits revealed a need for call recording and more efficient absence reporting. So we recommended Xelion, our easy-to-install cloud-based system. As well as improving every aspect of their existing telephony, Xelion would secure improvements well into the future, with new features constantly added as standard. Excited about taking their telephony to the next level, we gave Gavin and his team demo phones to experience the difference for themselves. And the upgrade followed soon after.

The Results; Loud and Clear

The system was such success at King’s Rise, Gavin recommended rolling it out across other schools in the Trust with Woods Bank and Croft Academy now on board and a fourth school, Shirestone Academy, in the pipeline. Gavin is absolutely delighted with the flexibility that Xelion provides and the smooth, fuss-free installation from Connaught. Communication and remote working are a breeze and Gavin is saving money too; a clever move for this ambitious and determined Academy Trust.

What the client said

A pleasure to deal with the Connaught team and engineers. They don’t bombard you with sales pitches, don’t pressure you and they know what they’re talking about.
